Kristin came Lake Jackson in August of 2006 by way of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, where she served two years as an intern in the Children’s ministry. She previously served as a Children’s ministry intern at Highland Baptist Church in Waco while attending Baylor. Kristin grew up in Liberty City, Texas near Gladewater.
Kristin is twenty-six years old. She is a graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Kristin is also a recent graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth where she earned her Master's degree in Christian Education. As of December 29, 2007, Kristin Barber became Kristin Walker. She was recently married here at FBC to Mark Walker of Lake Jackson, also a Baylor graduate and Engineer in Angleton, TX.
Kristin brings a solid background of experience and expertise. Along with her internships, she has served as Family Camp Children’s Counselor at Pine Cove Christian Camp near Tyler. She served for three years on the College Ministry Leadership Team at Highland Baptist Church in Waco. Kristin has participated in several mission trips, including a trip to the Amazon and Guatemala.
