Ed Webber
Minister of Pastoral Care 
Ed joined the staff of FBC-LJ in August 1982. He was called to the ministry in 1975. After his call to the ministry he has served as Minister of Education and Administration at Trinity Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, TX and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1977 at Trinity Baptist Church. Ed has attended Southwestern Seminary. He was ordained a Deacon in 1956 at Trinity Baptist Church in Ft. Worth and served there in various volunteer roles such as Treasurer, Sunday School Director and Chairman of Deacons. He has taken courses and seminars in Church Administration and is certified by the National Association of Church Business Administration (NACBA) and the Southern Baptist Convention Business Administration Association (SBCBAA).
Prior to his call to be a vocational minister, he was an Engineering Supervisor at General Dynamics in Ft. Worth, TX where he had worked for 18 years. He has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from SMU and is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas. Ed served in the U. S. Air Force from 1949 to 1953 as a radar technician during the Korean War.
Ed and his wife Bobbie were married in 1952. They have three children. Steve lives in New York. He is an actor, entertainer and teacher and is a graduate of Texas Christian University. Lori and her two children and husband, Jody, live in Socorro, New Mexico and she teaches in the Magdalena school system. She is a graduate of Brazosport College and has attended Houston Baptist University. Joel is a graduate of Houston Baptist University and he coaches and teaches at Sweeny ISD. Joel and wife Mollie and two children live in churchill and she teaches at Sweeny ISD.
Because of Ed’s job skills and training in both the secular and ministry fields, he sees his ministry as service to the Lord and His church by being a facilitator to help the ministers, support staff, leaders and members to accomplish the mission of First Baptist Church:
We exist to glorify God by reaching and guiding people to continually develop as followers of Christ.
After 28 years in the electronics field and 28 years as a church administrator, Ed is now serving part-time as Minister of Pastoral Care.
