Preteen Ministries

What to expect: In KidzWorld our 5th and 6th graders are considered preteens and have a different environment designed just for them called Club 56.  It is located on our second floor and has a full game room with ping pong, pool, board games and more!

On Sunday mornings Club 56 meets at 9:00 a.m. for games, fellowship and breakfast. At 9:15 a.m. we begin Large group where our virtue of the month and story of the day is presented in a creative and fun way that will speak to the heart of a preteen. Large group time may also consist of music, skits, and videos. At approximately 9:40 a.m. preteens will break into small groups of about 5-8 preteens based on their grade and gender. During small group preteens will be connected with a leader all year who will build relationships with them and reinforce what they learned in Large group through various activities. At 10:15 a.m. our small group time will conclude and preteens will be dismissed to meet their parents.

Club 56 Connects are once-a-month gatherings of preteens and leaders. These are sometimes on a Thursday evenings or Sunday afternoons. Some examples of past Connects are bowling, kickball, fast food progressive dinner, swimming, etc.

Please check out our KidzWorld Overview Page to read about other opportunties besides Sunday morning that your family can be involved.

What is important: All of our children, ages Kindergarten through 6th grade, use the 252 Basics Curriculum . This curriculum is broken down into age-specific large group presentations and small group activities. It is built around three Basic Truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52.

1. I need to make the wise choice.
2. I can trust God no matter what.
3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Each month preteens will learn a different virtue (Ex.: Patience, Kindness, Joy, etc.) and memory verse that will be taught through the Bible story of that week. Also, the 3 basic truths mentioned above are taught in relation to the virtue of the month and the Bible story of the week. The virtue each month is also taught in our KidzCity worship service and often during Wednesday night discipleship. Please feel free to visit the link above to read more about our curriculum.
