Alaska Mission Opportunity . . .  The elders of Galena Bible Church along with Pastor Chris Kopp have invited FBC Lake Jackson to send a ministry minded retired couple to Galena for a short term mission assignment of 3-4 months.  The main focus of this assignment will be to minister to and mentor the young families of the church through Bible studies, fellowship meals in the “missionary house,” visitation, etc.  If you are even remotely interested in the possibility and would like more information, please see Pastor Chad.
Sunday Evening Worship . . .  Please don’t forget that our Sunday evening worship service will continue tonight under the leadership of our Associate Pastor Dave Ketchand while our Pastor leads a Life Group for Young Adults.  Dave will be preaching through the book of Romans on Sunday evenings.
Reach Texas.  The Reach Texas Offering, the annual state missions ministry offering of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, continues through the month of September.  Our goal at FBCLJ is $20,000.
Finance Lead Team Meeting.  Meets TONIGHT, Sunday, September 21, 4:00 p.m., Conference Room. 
Deacons’ Meeting.  Meets TONIGHT, Sunday, September 21, 7:00 p.m.,  FLC Parlor. 
Trunk or Treat Wednesday, October 29, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., FLC Parking Lot.  Areas of ministry needs:  Provide a vehicle with game & candy; Kitchen team to prepare & serve food; set up team; welcome/greeter team; and more!  Look for sign-up sheets in your Sunday school class. 
Celebration Choir rehearsals are now 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. on Wednesdays.  Childcare is provided.  Come share the joy of worship, community, and service that singing in a choir can bring!
Children’s Choirs meet Sundays at 5:00pm (leaders there at 4:45pm so you can get to your LifeGroup).  Basic Praise (preschool-K) in room B-1313; Extreme Praise (1st-6th) in room C-2212. 
Resounding Praise rehearsals Sundays,  4:00 p.m., A-2101. 
We need more Extended Teaching Care workers. Extended Teaching Care is offered to families with children 4 years old and younger. This is a great way to be a part of the mission of our church so that visiting families and members can enjoy Knowing Him on Sunday mornings, by being able to drop off their children in a safe, loving environment with caring people. 1st grade-4th grade. First Grade through Fourth grade will be meeting in the Route 34 Large group room. First and Second grade parents will still drop off and pick up their children at the Studio K12 area. 
Flag Football & Cheer Practices and Games. Practices and games for our flag football and cheer league have begun.  Check other league dates at
Basketball & Cheer League Sign-Ups are Underway. Children in grades 1-6 may register now at for our 2014-15 basketball and cheer season. Registration is $75 and is online only.
The Anchor.  We meet Wednesdays, 6:15 p.m., 3rd Floor.  We have exciting things planned and invite you to join us and bring your friends!
Student Life Group.  We meet Sundays, 3rd Floor, 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and then help with children’s ministry from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 
COLLEGE & CAREER (Ages 18-25)
Bible Study and Fellowship. Join us on Tues. evening for Bible Study and fellowship at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Cody & Jordan Mather, 108 Austin’s Ct.
Caring Hearts meets Tuesday, September 23, 9:30 a.m. in FLC Crafts Room.  If you aren’t coming to Caring Hearts, you are missing a good time!  Come and enjoy the fellowship. 

Sewing Classes. Please join us on Thurs. at  9:00 a.m. in the FLC Craft Room.  Please contact Patti Huffines or Bobbie Kidwell if you have questions.
Senior Adult Trip.  11 Day, 10 Night Trip planned to Niagara Falls and Toronto, June 12 - 22, 2015.  The trip will require a valid U.S. Passport.  Deposits of $75 are now being accepted.  There are a limited number of seats available.  Total trip costs per person based on double occupancy is $925.  This includes transportation, lodging, 18 meals and guided tours.
Keenagers will meet Monday, October 6, in the FLC Parlor.   Our schedule will be as follows:  9:30 a.m. Games; 11:30 a.m. Bible study; 12:00 noon covered dish luncheon.

What Ages: The classes are primarily intended for adults and teens. However, there will be childcare for newborn-2 year olds, Mission Friends for 3 years to K, Bait Camp for 1-6 grade. We also offer The Anchor teen worship service at the same hour.
Serve U will offer a limited number of pre-defined mission projects each semester available to anyone who wants to get outside the walls of the church to participate in hands-on mission activities. Participants may register at Projects for Fall 2014 are listed online now.
